City Announces Changes Due to Winter Weather

GREENVILLE, N.C. - City of Greenville officials have announced changes regarding the schedule for facilities, programs, and activities on Saturday, January 7, 2017, due to the forecast for winter weather.

 

All City facilities and services will be closed for non-essential personnel on Saturday, including Recreation and Parks facilities and activities and the Greenville Area Transit. Officials will evaluate conditions on Saturday before making a call for Sunday, January 8.

 

In preparation for the conditions, City Public Works staff began applying brine to the city's primary streets, bridges, parking lots, and sidewalks earlier this afternoon. Staff is also positioning barricades in several locations throughout the city in preparation for potential road closings. The locations include:

 

-West 3rd Street from Elizabeth Street to Pitt Street
-East 3rd Street from Reade Street to Summit Street
-Crestwood Drive from S. Overlook Drive to Beaumont Drive
-Brookgreen Avenue from Elm Street to West Longmeadow Road
-South Wright Road from E. Wright Road to Jefferson Drive
-North Overlook Drive from S. Overlook Drive to Beaumont Drive
-Dalebrook Road at Deerwood Lane
-Jarvis Street from 1st Street to 2nd Street
-Cotanche Street from 4th Street to Reade Street
-Top floor of the parking deck in uptown Greenville
