GREENVILLE, N.C. — The City of Greenville is scheduled to start the next phase of street resurfacing on Arlington Boulevard next week, continuing street and pedestrian transportation improvements approved by voters in 2015.

Beginning April 10, the City's contractor will begin work on the section of Arlington Boulevard between Red Banks Road and Firetower Road. The project is expected to take approximately three months with work including upgrades to existing ADA ramps along the corridor, traffic signal modifications, street repairs and repaving, and new pavement markings.

During the first couple of weeks, those using the road should be alert for possible lane closures in the area as upgrades to existing sidewalk ramps and traffic signal modifications are performed. All of the asphalt milling, base repairs, and paving will be done at night between the hours of 7:00 PM and 7:00 AM to minimize the disruption to traffic.

The work is the next phase in rehabilitation work that was part of the $15.85 million Street and Pedestrian Transportation Improvements Bond approved on November 3, 2015. The bond includes approximately $10 million dedicated to fixing the worst, most traveled roads maintained by the City.
