City Gives Greater & Easier Access to Police Reports
Starting today, Greenville citizens will have an easier way of getting police reports. The Greenville Police Department has implemented a new reporting system in which all calls for service will be made available on-line, free of charge, to anyone who wants them.
Prior to this new reporting system, citizens would have to come down to the police station, make a request, and pay five dollars if they were not the victim. Reporters and other members of the media would have to sift through pages of reports just to find what they needed, too. This system allows citizens to access police reports they have filed at their leisure anytime they are on the internet. It also will help media outlets by giving them access to police reports in a timely manner so they may have the information they need for their reports and stories.
To access these reports, please go to www.greenvillenc.gov then under the Police Department’s header, find a page titled “Records.”
