There are many ways that the public was involved in the project and informed of its progress. Newsletters, Community Informational Workshops, and an appointed Citizen Advisory Committee (CAC) helped the project team stay connected to the many people in the community during the planning process. More specific information about these opportunities can be found in the sections that follow.
Newsletters were periodically sent to everyone on our mailing list to help keep citizens informed.
Community Informational Workshops
Community Informational Workshops allowed citizens to hear about plans and interact with the project team. The first workshop occurred on January 30, 2006. Click here for a summary of the first public workshop.
The second workshop occurred on January 30, 2007. In addition, the project team was available the four days prior to the workshop for more individual discussion. Click here for the handout provided at the second public workshop. Click here to see the slideshow presented to the public at the workshop.
A Property Owners' Workshop was held on September 7, 2012. This workshop provided information to property owners on the acquisition process.
Citizen Advisory Committee
The Citizen Advisory Committee (CAC) was appointed by the City Council to give input throughout the project. The input gathered from the CAC and from other citizen sources was used by the City Council, staff, consultants, and other team members during the planning process. The agendas and minutes from its meetings are posted below:
