The City of Greenville is continuing to monitor the COVID-19 pandemic and take appropriate steps to limit the spread of the virus. City offices are currently open from 9 a.m.-noon on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, and from 1 p.m.-5 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

Greenie League Baseball

Greenie League Baseball is a youth baseball program for boys and girls which is co-sponsored by the City of Greenville Recreation and Parks Department and Greenville Little Leagues. The program is held at various Recreation and Parks facilities from April until June. Registration is open to participants ages 4-8 (age as of August 31, 2020).

  • Mini Fry (Age 4) registration will be accepted February 3 - May 11
  • Small Fry & Big Fry (Ages 5-6 & 7-8) registration will be accepted February 3 - May 11

Greenie League Classic

The Greenie League Classic is a six team pool play tournament held in mid July.  The Greenie League Classic features 60 participants from the Big Fry Baseball division who are drafted onto teams named for six of the eight states who participate in the Little League tournament. The Greenie League Classic is played over the course of five days at Elm Street Park.


Fall Baseball

Fall baseball is offered for boys and girls to learn and develop skills in a non-competitive environment. Informal scrimmages are played over the course of six weeks on Sunday afternoons at Perkins Complex. Scrimmages will be played from mid-September through mid-October. Registration will be available for participants ages 6-7 (age as of August 31, 2020).

Baseball Batting Clinic at Sports Connection

Legendary high school baseball coach Ronald Vincent (RV) and staff will conduct a two-day clinic on Sunday, February 19 & 26 from 1:30 PM-3:30 PM that will stress the fundamentals of hitting in baseball for ages 8-12. This is an excellent way to prepare for the upcoming season.

Fee: $30, Discounted Greenville Resident: $20

Registration will be accepted January 2 – February 16.

Private Batting/Pitching Lessons at Sports Connection

Private lessons include fundamental and advanced techniques for children ages 7–12. Pitching lessons teach proper balance, arm position and stride to increase velocity and accuracy. Batting lessons will include instruction on proper grip, stance, and proper weight transfer. Tee work, soft toss, or a mechanical pitching machine will be used depending upon age. Offered throughout the year, by appointment only.

Fee: $30, Discounted Greenville Resident $20 (per ½ hour session)
