Parking restrictions are necessary to properly manage and maximize public benefit from the City's on-street parking resources. Health and Safety is the primary goal of all parking restrictions. Restrictions also support the diverse needs of the City's on-street parking users and stakeholders. Parking citations are issued to improve compliance with these restrictions. A web application is now available that provides the current status of parking citations. The information available comes directly from our parking citation database in real-time to ensure accuracy. With this website you can view the current amount due, verify that your appeal has been received, check the status of your appeal, and view any associated photos that may have been taken at the time of issuance. To pay a parking citation, your parking citation number is required. If you do not have the citation number, provide the license plate number and state for the vehicle cited.

A payment drop box is located on the back (North) side of City Hall for your convenience.  We accept cash, check, money order, Visa, or MasterCard.

Failure to Pay

If a parking citation is not paid after approximately 30 days, the citation information may be reported to a collection agency by our Financial Service Department.

NOTE: If your citation is delinquent, you may owe additional penalties and interest that are not included in the amount due. To find out if you have outstanding parking citations, call Financial Services at 252.329.4448. Please have your vehicle license plate number ready when you call.

Immobilization

Unpaid parking tickets may result in the booting and/or impounding of vehicle until all fines and penalties are resolved.

Stolen Vehicle

If you vehicle was stolen prior to the issuance of the citation, and recovered after, or never recovered, you should:

  • Provide a copy of the stolen vehicle report
  • Provide a copy of the vehicle recovery report
  • If the vehicle was never recovered, provide a document from your insurance company indicating the loss

These documents can be submitted by mail, or scanned and emailed to parking@greenvillenc.gov. Please indicate the citation number, plate number, name and telephone number.

Sold Vehicle

If your vehicle was sold prior to when the citation was issued, you should:

  • Complete the affidavit of non-liability provided on the back of the Notice of Illegal Parking
  • Mail the affidavit of non-liability along with the proof of sale to:
