A First for Suddenlink-Served Communities in North Carolina
Other Internet Speeds to Be Increased at No Added Charge

GREENVILLE, N.C. (July 9, 2015) - Suddenlink announced today that it is now offering throughout Greenville and Suddenlink-served areas of Pitt County an Internet service with an up to 1 Gigabit per second download speed, making this area one of the first two Suddenlink-served communities in North Carolina to receive this service today.

Suddenlink also announced today that this week it also will be increasing certain other residential Internet speeds at no additional cost to customers.

"I'm very proud of the fact that Greenville is one of the first cities in the country that Suddenlink chose to launch its new 1 Gigabit service," said Greenville Mayor Allen Thomas. "These days a city's technical infrastructure is as important as its concrete and steel assets. Suddenlink today is offering us a tool that makes Greenville a leader in providing superior Internet data speed. Gig-speeds touted in the future for Charlotte and Raleigh are here first in Greenville, propelling our city forward on the cutting edge to grow and prosper."

"Today's announcement is the next step in Operation GigaSpeed, the company-wide plan we announced last August," said Suddenlink North Carolina Region Senior Vice President of Operations Jared Sonne. "In sharp contrast to companies like Google and AT&T, which are offering a Gigabit service only to a few neighborhoods in primarily urban markets, we're making our service available in all of the neighborhoods and households passed by our network throughout the Greenville area."

Sonne added that local business owners also will have access to the new Gigabit service, along with customized services that Suddenlink has offered for many years and that are capable of multi-Gigabit speeds.

"Suddenlink's new 1 Gigabit service is certainly an upgrade to our area's infrastructure, which makes our city and county even more attractive as a place to live and work," said Greenville-Pitt County Chamber of Commerce President Scott Senatore. "I'm especially proud that Suddenlink, a local Chamber member, is providing this great service to our community."

"I'm so pleased that Suddenlink's new 1 Gigabit Internet service extends beyond Greenville's city limits and into all Suddenlink-served areas in Pitt County," said County Commissioners Chairman Glen Webb. "Today's announcement provides a resource that will help service the entire region's long-term development and is an asset that few other larger communities can duplicate."

As part of Operation GigaSpeed, Suddelink introduced a first phase of Internet speed increases in the Greenville area in December. In addition to launching the 1 Gigabit Internet service today, residential high-speed Internet customers with current download speeds up to 100 and 200 Mbps, respectively, at no added charge. Suddenlink's standard residential Internet download speeds in the Greenville area will then be up to 50, 100, and 200 Mbps, along with the now available up to 1 Gig service.
