The City of Greenville is continuing to monitor the COVID-19 pandemic and take appropriate steps to limit the spread of the virus. City offices are currently open from 9 a.m.-noon on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, and from 1 p.m.-5 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

Welcome to the Aquatics page!

The Greenville Aquatics and Fitness Center Aquatics program is the community source for water safety training and fitness. Whether it be swim lessons or water aerobics, we work to ensure all patrons are safe and confident in the water while enjoying the many health benefits aquatics provide. We offer a variety of program options for all ages and skill levels.

We have a new system that allows you to register for programs online. Just click the link and you'll be taken to our registration site. A quick sign-up process is needed and then you're off to register for any and all programs!

Safety Classes

American Red Cross Lifeguard Certification

Classes will resume in the fall.

Ages: 15 & up

Strong swimming ability required

Become an American Red Cross Lifeguard. Course teaches the knowledge and skills needed to prevent and respond to aquatic emergencies, CPR, First Aid and AED training. Pretest required, includes; 300 yard swim, treading and timed object retrieval. Must be age 15 on last day of class. Fee includes $50 non-refundable deposit. Session times and locations may vary based on pool availability, course work will be required online before class. Recertification fee is $100. American Red Cross Water Safety Instructor Course

Classes will resume in the fall.

Become an American Red Cross Certified Swim Instructor. This purpose of this course is to train instructors to teach swimming and aquatic classes at a professional level. Pretest of swimming skills required. Please call (252)329-4043 for more information. Must be age 16 on last day of class. Fee is $200, including a $50 non-refundable deposit. Session times and locations may vary based on pool availability. Some online course work may be required online before class.

Lap Swim Etiquette Policy

Due to increased traffic in the pool, the Aquatics & Fitness Center has adopted a Lap Swim Etiquette Policy we highly encourage our members and guests to follow. We want everyone to enjoy the pool and to interact with other swimmers in a cooperative, respectful manner. Click here to view the policy.
