The NC Firefighter’s Relief Fund was established in 1907 to financially assist firefighters that may have been injured while performing their duties, and to ensure that no firefighter would become financially destitute through no fault of their own.

Over the course of many years the Firefighter’s Relief Fund has seen several legislative revisions to permit the funds to provide additional services to include scholarships for member’s dependents, Line of Duty Death benefits, as well as Accidental Death and Dismemberment insurance for members.

The standing meeting date is Quarterly on the second Wednesday of the meeting month in the conference room at the Police-Fire/Rescue Building located at 500 South Greene Street. However, legislative restrictions and a lack of agenda items have limited the number of meetings in recent years.
