In Good Company Citizens Academy logo

About 

The City of Greenville, NC In Good Company program is a free 7-week hands-on, interactive opportunity to get a glance at local government. In Good Company will be held each evening from 6:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m. at various locations throughout the city. 

Objectives
  • Increase communication and build a relationship between the City of Greenville, NC and citizens.
  • Provide education and insight to citizens of Greenville concerning the day-to-day functions and duties of the City.
  • To foster over time a pool of well-informed citizens (graduates) that will share newly acquired knowledge and insight with others so that they may find themselves in good company.
Schedule:

A schedule and session topics is provided below. Attendance is required for at least five of the six sessions prior to graduation.

February 26th     Session 1: City Administration

March 5th            Session 2: Public Safety

March 12th          Session 3: Engineering and Public Works

March 19th          Session 4: Neighborhood & Business Services and Planning & Development Services

March 26th          Session 5: Financial Services and Capital Projects

April 2nd               Session 6: Recreation and Parks

April 7th                Session 7: City Council Meeting Graduation

Registration:

Registration for Spring 2025 will open January 1st and close once all spots are filled. If you are interested in participating please submit the application form below

Qualifications:
  • Complete the In Good Company application
  • Be at least 18 years of age or older
  • Be willing to commit to attending 2-hour class every Wednesday evening from 6:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m. for 7 weeks
