The Special Operations Bureau of the Greenville Police Department encompasses specialized units and roles that focus on advanced law enforcement techniques, community engagement, and the use of cutting-edge technology to protect and serve Greenville. Traffic Safety Unit (TSU)

The Traffic Safety Unit works to enhance road safety through enforcement, education, and investigation. Utilizing motorcycles for traffic enforcement, officers focus on high-risk areas to reduce traffic violations such as speeding and impaired driving. The unit includes specialized accident reconstructionists who investigate serious collisions. Civilian crash investigators are also part of the team, responding to minor accidents to improve efficiency and ensure thorough investigations.

Violent Crime Apprehension Team (VCAT)

VCAT is responsible for locating and apprehending violent offenders and fugitives. Through strategic operations and intelligence-led efforts, the team reduces violent crime by focusing on individuals and groups who pose significant risks to the community’s safety.

Gang Unit

The Gang Unit is tasked with identifying and dismantling gang activities in Greenville. Criminal Intelligence Position
