The Patrol Bureau is responsible for general law enforcement duties and preventative patrol. Uniformed patrol and special operations officers are responsible for the primary response to calls for service, traffic enforcement, street-level vice and narcotics enforcement, preliminary and follow-up investigations, and preventative patrol. The function of the Patrol Bureau is to respond to calls for assistance and reports of criminal activity, act as a deterrent to crime, enforce state and local laws, identify community needs, provide support and assistance to the community and respond to emergencies.

Major Kenneth Laws is in charge of the Bureau.

The Patrol Bureau consists of four shhifts that provide 24-hour coverage throughout the city. The city is broken into three zones: East, West, and South.

Each zone has a Zone Commander and a Substation:

West Zone Substation: 1024 W. 5th Street

Captain Donald Manley, West Zone Commander 

 

East Zone Substation: 3195 Suite A, E. 10th Street (behind Little Caesar’s Pizza and GK Café)

Captain Michael Montanye, East Zone Commander

 

South Zone Substation: 728 Southwest Greenville Boulevard (in the Greenville Grande shopping center)
