The City of Greenville and Greenville Utilities Commission Minority and Women Business Enterprise organization is seeking nominations for its upcoming Minority Enterprise Development (MED) Week Recognition Awards.
Awards will be presented during this year's MED Week at a recognition breakfast on October 17 at the Eddie & Jo Allison Smith Building at Pitt Community College, 1935 Warren Drive. Nominations are being accepted for the following awards:
- Standing on the Shoulders of Giants Award - This category celebrates a business that is led by visionary owner(s) who have broken barriers, overcome significant challenges, and serve as role models in their fields. These businesses are paving the way for future generations of minority and women entrepreneurs.
- Rising Trailblazer Award - New business that has been in operation for three years or less. This category recognizes businesses that have demonstrated exceptional innovation, creativity, and problem-solving in their business whether through products, services, or their business models.
- MWBE Excellence Award - This award honors a business that is making a significant impact in its community. Nominees in this category are those who engage in community outreach, contribute to local causes, or demonstrate a strong commitment to social responsibility.
