Parks and recreation has the power to strengthen communities, transform lives and protect the future. That’s why the City of Greenville Recreation and Parks Department will join other agencies across the country in celebrating the 30th anniversary of Park and Recreation Month—an annual event created by the National Recreation and Park Association and celebrated in July since 1985.
You can help us celebrate by joining in on the fun at the “80s Retro Party, Movie & Campout” at River Park North on Friday, July 24 from 6:30pm-11:00pm. The evening will be full of activities including kayaking, hayrides, 80s games, 80s trivia, hotdog cookout, an outdoor showing of “The Goonies” movie and family campout. Come in your favorite 80s duds. Movie and activities are free. Hotdogs and drinks will be for sale, $10/family for the overnight campout. For more information, call 329-4560.
