Changes to the City of Greenville downtown parking plan will be coming soon after the City Council approved a revised approach to parking in the district.2025 Uptown Parking Map

During its meeting on January 9, the Council unanimously supported the new plan, which provides two hours of free parking in all City-owned lots and on-street parking. After two hours, patrons must move their vehicles. Patrons who wish to remain in the downtown area can relocate to a different parking spot in a separate lot. The plan also includes free parking for the first two hours in the City's Fourth Street Parking Garage. After two hours, there is a 75-cent charge for each additional hour in the parking garage.

Residential permit parking remains available for the downtown area with options including reserved spaces or unreserved spaces. Employers and employees in the downtown area are also eligible to purchase an employee/employer permit.

Enforcement of the plan will begin on March 3, 2025. Prior to enforcement, the City will take steps to educate the public about the changes.
